Summary: QuizTrav's core quizzes and learning features work offline and do not require an account. QuizTrav does not operate a cloud account or receive the app's local gameplay and learning records. If you use the optional BYOK AI Lesson Generator, the prompt or other content you enter and your API credential are sent directly to your selected OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or OpenRouter provider under that provider's terms. QuizTrav does not receive or store those provider requests.
QuizTrav ("we", "our", or "the app") is a world geography and language learning game developed for Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, how app data is stored, and what permissions are used and why.
We are committed to your privacy. Core gameplay, learning, reference content, progress, and local classroom tools are designed to work without a network connection. Optional BYOK AI generation is a user-triggered network feature and is described below.
QuizTrav does not operate an account system, cloud sync, analytics or advertising service, or server copy of the following information:
QuizTrav stores gameplay, learning, classroom, and settings data locally on your device, primarily in AsyncStorage. Local data is not uploaded to QuizTrav or synchronized to a QuizTrav server. School Edition can include names, nicknames, school/class details, notes, attendance, and results entered by users. Optional generated lesson packs can also be saved locally.

Settings → Reset all progress & leaderboard removes the listed gameplay/history data, but does not remove every local setting, saved phrase, School Edition record, creator analytics entry, or BYOK credential. Use the individual delete controls for School Edition and saved items. AI Lesson Generator → Clear API key removes the saved credential from the app's storage locations. Uninstalling the app is an operating-system action that removes app data according to the platform; it does not request deletion from an AI provider.
QuizTrav requests user-facing access only when an optional feature needs it. Lens Explorer can use the camera or photo picker to process a selected image on-device. Compass uses motion sensors to calculate a heading on-device. QuizTrav does not record audio and Android Build 32 does not request RECORD_AUDIO, ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.

Android Build 32 also contains platform-generated service and app-specific receiver permissions used by bundled framework components. They do not provide QuizTrav with additional personal data access.
QuizTrav does not require an internet connection for core quizzes, learning, reference content, local progress, or classroom tools. Bundled content works offline. Optional AI Lesson Generator requires internet access and a key supplied by the user.
When the user taps Generate, the app sends the user-entered prompt or other chosen content and the user's API credential directly over HTTPS to the selected OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or OpenRouter provider. QuizTrav does not proxy, receive, or store that request or response on its own server. The selected provider's terms, privacy policy, retention, and deletion practices apply. The provider may also receive connection data such as an IP address as part of serving the HTTPS request.
The standard app does not use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, social-login, or cloud-sync services. Optional BYOK AI is a direct-to-provider feature, not a QuizTrav collection service. Android Build 32 also bundles the RevenueCat purchases library and Google Play billing capability, but production purchases and subscriptions are disabled and no Google Play products are configured.
QuizTrav is rated Everyone (E). Core gameplay does not require an account. Users and supervising adults should avoid entering sensitive information into local School Edition fields or into an optional AI prompt. BYOK requests are sent to the provider selected by the user, and that provider's age, privacy, and retention terms apply.

Local app data remains on the device until an app control, OS action, or the relevant feature's delete control removes it. To remove broad gameplay data:
QuizTrav has no server copy of local records and cannot delete them on your behalf. Clearing a local key or uninstalling does not delete a request already sent to an AI provider; contact that provider under its terms if provider-side deletion is available.
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
